General Questions

Brass Buyers is an Ohio based company supporting the ammunition hand loading / reloading community by providing high quality once-fired brass and nickel cases.

Brass Buyers buys and sells once-fired brass and nickel cases for hand loading / reloading.

All cases are resold or responsibly recycled.  Brass and nickel cases are inspected and resold.  Damaged cases, rim fire, steel cases, and aluminum cases are typically recycled.  Some steel and aluminum cases are resold to artists who use the cases to make jewelry.

We accept any metal cases.  Our cash-for-brass program only pays for brass and nickel.  We do not pay for steel or aluminum cases.

This brass is collected from shooting ranges.  The quality may vary depending on the range, especially indoor versus outdoor ranges. It is typically unsorted and not cleaned.

Though the common industry term for used brass is “once-fired brass,” the reality is that a case may actually have been fired multiple times.  There is no standard definition for “once-fired” however you can be sure it’s not new brass.

Selling Your Brass

Yes. Our website has a section for Unique Brass Quote.  The list of potential calibers is very comprehensive.  You can use the comments box of the custom quote form to list calibers not included in the list.  Common calibers will not receive a custom quote.

No, it’s not required to sort your casings. We purchase brass based on weight, so there’s no need to sort them beforehand.

Steel and aluminum cases have little to no value for the hand loading / reloading community.  Many steel cases do not have boxer style primers, making them hard to reload.  Some steel cases are used to make jewelry.  Most steel and aluminum cases are responsibly recycled as scrap.

We purchase brass of various sizes, from 22 short to 50 BMG.

We recommend packing your brass in a medium sized plastic garbage bag and placing the bag inside a USPS large flat-rate box.  Use a LOT of tape. Tape the top, Botton, each side, and corners.  We are not responsible for packages that don’t make it to our door.
